Laura Jacobs

Lecturer Legal Theory & Legal History

Brief info

My teaching and research activities focus on biotechnology, law, ethics and legal philosophy. Lately I’m doing research on topics such as artificial intelligence in reproductive practices, human germline gene editing and about whether a ‘human right on longevity’ exists, like some transhumanists claim. I also studied European Law and did research on the European regulation of online platforms, so I am interested in law and technology in a broad sense.

Fun fact: I feel like my curls define my identity even though I used to have very straight hair until I was 14 years old.
